So in the end I'm only sporting the DsFix and sweetfx. DL this after installing DSFix 2.4 Morten242s UI for DSfix at Dark Souls Nexus - mods and community Set it to your desktop resolution, run it in borderless windowed mode, and also check disable intro videos. Most of the textures, while flat, are pretty sharp.
#Dsfix 2.4 nexus mods 1080p#
Disabled any texture mods and just downsampled from 4k to 1080p and to my utter surprise, the game actually holds up. (The place where DARKSOULS.exe is) You can open DSfix.ini with a text editor to adjust the desired internal resolution.
My question is, I keep seeing all the talk about dsfix 2.4. Im using a 360 controller and it seems to be fine and I have graphics at 1080p. I didnt make any mods or tweaks to the game. Information about the modification from the DSfix developer, Durante: How do I use it Extract the files into the games 'DATA' directory. I just installed the game and played past the asylum demon. I have turned off AA and motion blur in game, I have changed all the settings in the ini file, put the dsfix folder in the data folder, I have changed it to the steam. so I have jumped back to 7 and seen that 2.4 dsfix works now and its not working for me. the dsfix worked before they patched the game up and I was on windows 8.1 at that point.
For some reason I got a lot of stuttering. DSfix 1920x1080 render resolution 1920x1080, 1080 (disabled) dof setting, no smaa. I have tried everything and still not working. I too struggled with what mods I should install and initially I installed the texture mods. I feel that the exploration aspect is a lot stronger in DS than bloodborne, but I might prefer bloodborne's combat, but then again I love my really slow but devastating zweihander. 33h in so far and I can't bring myself to divide my gaming time between two games so I'll complete bloodborne after this. Just thought I would dabble with the game at the beginning, maybe setup dsfix etc. Started the game for the first time ever about a week ago even though I still have yet to complete Bloodborne.
